MY PROFILE

BACKGROUND

I work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday as a dog groomer at All Dogs Great and Small Grooming Services.  I also work a Sunday morning shift at Warrington Hospital.

I have always loved animals since I was young but especially dogs.  They give us unconditional love and involve themselves in our lives more than any other animal.  They also work alongside us as well as being our beloved pets.

I have always wanted to work with dogs but never knew which route to take until I discovered dog grooming a couple of years ago.  I initially enrolled on a preliminary dog grooming course at St Helens College which I really enjoyed.  I then undertook a NCFE Level 3 correspondence course which I completed in May 2013.  Just before I opened for business in August 2013 I attended Paw Pad dog grooming school in Northwich to learn practical skills and stying techniques.

MY OWN DOGS

Growing up our first family dog was a Boxer called Sally.  She was very loyal, friendly, a bit naughty at times and liked to perch on your shoulder like a large parrot.

When I left home my boyfriend, Mark and I got our first dog.  He was another Boxer but a male one this time, named Oscar.  In his younger years he was very energetic, athletic looking and handsome.  We took him to training classes and he could do all the basic commands although his recall depended on whether he wanted to come back or not!

Our next dog was a Mastiff / Ridgeback cross called Ollie, who we adopted from Cheshire Dogs Home in 2009, sadly he died in October 2018 at a grand old age of 11 1/2 years old.  He was very unruly to begin with but with perserverance, hard work and attending a local dog training class he has come on leaps and bounds.  In 2013 he achieved a Kennel Club Good Citizenship Bronze Award and in 2014 he gained his Silver and then finally his Gold Award.

OTHER INTERESTS

My boyfriend, Mark and I have a touring caravan and we have stayed all over England, Wales and made it up to Scotland in 2018. We also enjoy cycling, both mountain biking and road cycling.  We combined our two hobbies a few years ago in York and went to watch the Yorkshire leg of the 2014 Tour de France.
